This morning Scott, the company president/CEO came to our office. He explained some ideas of some venture capital money that might be possible. It eventually turned in to a meeting where John was asking questions about the finances and why we haven’t had a meeting to discuss our finances.

It turned in to a long meeting. We probably talked for 2 hours or so. I think that maybe I have heard too much of one side and haven’t given Scott a fair chance on some things. Yeah, I have a valid complaint that it took over 2 years of asking and continually get a positive response to get direct deposit. Yes, I still have issues with how our building is not getting cleaned regularly or properly. But other issues I may have judged unfairly on.

During this meeting two thoughts kept coming to mind:

  1. It’s lonely at the top.
  2. Seek first to understand, then to be understood.
