Sometimes I do things out of faith and to fulfill my calling to the best of my ability with the hope that what I do helps just one person. It may be rare that I get evidence of that hope, but today, thanks to the tender mercies of the Lord, I got to see that evidence.

In Elders quorum meeting, one of the Elders that I used teach in Sunday school before he went on a mission made a comment that he took some advice I gave in a combined meeting I presented about a months ago. Now, after only a month, he says he has noticed a big difference as he as allocated his money to different areas. He now has money to set aside for savings.

The instructor, who coincidentally was also in my wife and I’s Sunday school class before his mission also said he could attest to the value of that lesson as well. He said his last paycheck was the first time he still had money in his account we he got paid. I was certainly happy to hear that the lesson I prepared helped at least those two people.

One other event happened today that made me happy. In our stake general priesthood meeting our stake president did something they have never done before. He asked priesthood office to stand in succession to get an idea of how many were there, and then told us how many people hold that office in the stake. I spent two days last week delivering announcements for that meeting to each member of my quorum. I believe there were 42 total. When I arrived I was frustrated at how few actually showed up to the meeting. When we all stood up, I looked around and noticed Kevin. He was easy to spot because I think he was the only person wearing a green t-shirt. I smiled and forgot about the large number that were not in attendance. I have only seen Kevin once or twice in our quorum meetings, but he has helped us in a few service projects. Bryan (my first counselor) and I chatted with him for a while when we invited him and I was so happy to see him there.
