My home teacher called me around 9:30 tonight and asked if I could come over and assist him in giving his son a priesthood blessing. I am always honored and grateful to be invited to serve in such a manner. When such occassions come up, I remember my Grandpa’s funeral. The bishop spoke and talke about how when after he died he got a call asking if he could go to my Grandma’s house and give her a blessing. He said he had just gotten home from work and he was just going to go over when his wife stopped him and said, “Don’t you dare go to Ralph Anderson’s house to perform and ordinance without wearing a white shirt and tie!” I’ve always remembered that and so when I’m asked to give blessings I quickly put on my suit.
