Last night I got a call from a number I did not recognize. After saying hello, the man on the other end said, “Is this the elders quorum president?” I didn’t know how to answer that. I thought maybe someone from our old stake and an old list and was trying to contact the 10th ward elders quorum president. After studdering for a bit, I finally said, “what do you need?” Then the guy started laughing and said, “Just say yes, you haven’t been released yet.” It took a bit but I finally realized it was Brother Hegland, our neighbor and the current young men’s president. He was calling to ask if I would be willing to come help referring some basketball games. He had pretty much exhuasted his options there – well sort of. He had 2 high priests, but he thought it would be nice if I could help relieve them because there were going to be four games.

So that is where I was this morning. It was actually quite fun. I really enjoyed it. It was fun seeing old friends too. I was also persuaded to come play next week in the mens league. I don’t know that they had to twist my arm too hard to get me to say yes 😉
