Since moving and paying about $400 more per month for our mortgage, things have gotten a bit tight lately. I’ve made a couple of changes that should save us about $30 per month. I switched from Vonage to Ooma. I was paying about $32 per month for Vonage which gave me unlimited calling. When I had two lines, one for business, I was paying over $60 per month. I paid $250 for the Ooma hardware and I paid $100 for a years worth of Ooma Premier which gives me unlimited calling for two lines. So now I wont have a phone bill for a year. That comes out to about $29 per month for two lines – much better than Vonage pricing. They did offer me a discount of $5 per month… uh, no thanks.

I also cancelled my subscription to Mvelopes. I’ve been using Mvelopes to budget with for about 3 years now. I’ve started writing Inzolo.com and it has gotten to a point where I can do the basic budgeting that I did with Mvelopes. I was paying about $13.50 a month for that service. But the greater benefit I feel is that now that I am fully committed to using my own software I can continue to work out bugs and get it really to make a business out of it. I found a few bugs today and fixed a few. I’m going to spend about an hour before I go to bed tonight working on it as well. I think that using it regularly will really help push it forward.
