Nice Day

Today was an interesting day. I got a phone call last night from Mike. One of our web guys that is responsible for running slides backstage was sick so he wanted me to fill in for him. So I got to the Salt Palace at 7:00. It turned out that the decided to use Steve who had experience doing this backstage work. It wasn’t difficult. SendOutCards Convention Started

Convention has started for our company. Today I helped out with tours of our office. I sat in the programming area and talked to groups as they came through. It is fun to meet people who really appriciate the work you do. It’s also fun to see so many excited about the overall work your company does.

Gift from the Boss

Today Mike (my boss) gave us all gym bags and gym memberships as a gift to say thanks for the work and overtime we’ve been putting in to get ready for convention. He also gave us all hand-written cards which was a nice gesture (and appropriate for where we work)

Family Home Evening in the Boys Room

Gehrig refused to take a bite of dinner tonight so we sent him to bed early. We then had a dilemma. After dinner it was time for family home evening. So we took the lesson to him. We had FHE in his room. The lesson was on prayer. I think it was a memorable experience if nothing else 🙂

Busy at Church

Today was a fairly busy day at church. I prefer that to the alternative. I enjoy feeling useful. I loaned a copy of Total Money Makeover to a counselor in the elders quorum presidency. He returned it today and then called me tonight to teach next weeks lesson in elders quorum on the topic of personal finance and budgeting. It’s not new to me since I’ve taught a few of these lessons in our last ward and I obviously enjoy the topic.
