I attended the funeral of Joseph Asay today at noon. There was quite a large group that came. This may sound a bit strange, but I was thinking that it was probably the most uplifting funeral I have ever attended.

Elder Ballard was there, which was quite a surprise. If I understand it right, he was Brother Asay’s mission president. He spoke briefly then had to leave. I enjoyed all the talks given but the one’s that touched me most was Arlene’s (Joseph’s wife) and President Tindall. Arlene was so strong and so sweet. I have never seen a widow speak at her husband’s funderal. It must take so much strength.

I could feel the Spirit so strongly when President Tindall spoke. I really miss hearing from him on a (somewhat) regular basis.

Often I feel awkward returning to old wards, but I always feel so welcome when going back to the Taylorsville 10th ward. It’s like I’m going home. I stuck around to help move chairs with Bryan and some of the other brethren. I miss Bryan. It is great to see the mantle of Elders quorum president on him.
