I stayed home from work today because Emily came down so we could look at a house in Alpine. Time was of the essence because the house just came on the offer and someone else placed an offer on it yesterday. Ken & Laura also came and looked at it. I really liked the house. It has been remodeled throughout. It is 4500 square feet, so it is pretty much double the space we are in now, plus, it’s on a half acre lot and has a 3 car garage. The landscaping needs some TLC and I guess the only major complaint I have about the inside of the house is the master bedroom. The closet is quite small. Walking in the master bedroom feels like walking into a hotel room to me – except the bathroom is much bigger.

We liked it enough to put an offer on it. They are asking $350,000 and we offered the full amount. We are just nervous about the other offer that went in yesterday, otherwise we might have offered lower. Ken & Laura are going to be our bank. They have $310,000 they want to invest in retirement. They don’t want it in the stock market so the are investing it us basically. Ken has to borrow $40,000 from his business for us to make this offer so I need to figure out how to repay that amount ASAP. We are dropping the price of our home to $279,000. We should get about $45,000 out of it if we can sell it for that price, then we can pay that back. Hopefully that works. Right now our house is listed for $298,000 so we are dropping it $19,000.

We are excited so hopefully it all works out.
