This morning Gracie was so tired and weak when she woke up that Rachel had to help her get dressed. She got really concerned because of how skinny Gracie was looking. She you can really see her bones in her shoulders and back now. She called the doctor and scheduled an appointment and I decided to work from home so I could watch the boys while they went to her appointment.

I got a phone call from Rachel saying that Gracie had been diagnosed with diabetes. It came as quie a shocker and turned our day upside down to say the least.

Ken came over to help me get the boys packed so they could stay with them for the day. Ken & Burt assisted me in giving Gracie a priesthood blessing. Then we waited for a phone call to bring her in to Primary Children’s hospital where they wanted to admit her for at least 2 days to get her blood suger level regulated and to educate us on how to take care of here.

Rooms were pretty full here so they asked that we go to the emergency room. They put Gracie on an IV while we waited for a room to open up.

While we were in the ER there were two children brought in from life flight for emergency procedures. We turned on the news and saw that these two children where hit by an SUV while crossing the street. It was really said. We realized that our trials could certainl be worse.

Gracie is now resting in her room. I am spending the night here with her. Tomorrow will be a day full of education for all of us.
