It was a busy independance day. I got up early to be at the church at 7 am to help transport and set up chairs in the commoms area and then started to help make pancakes. There were lots of volunteers so I got to eat breakfast with the family, then I relieved Taylor and cooked pancakes.

After breakfast we went to the Home Depot and bought some vegetable plants, then took them home to plant in our garden. We don’t have much, but we now have a garden. I’m excited to see if anything comes of these plants. It’s a start. Hopefully we can get an earlier start and do better next year.

We had our usual barbeque and fireworks at Carrie & Gramps’ house. It was a fun time as usual. Gramps has a old motorbike that I got to take for ride. It was pretty fun. I haven’t ridden any type of motor bike since I was a little kid.

On the way home as we were getting on the freeway, the car in front of us stopped and pulled over to help a dog that was wondering about. It was a big rotwiler.  It seemed pretty scared from all the fireworks. I called 911 and held on to it until the police showed up and were able to get it into one of the police cars. That was quite and event.
