I accepted Neutron’s offer this morning. I then told Justin, who is basically my new boss at ZenPrint. He was in the office this morning. He didn’t seam to care really. He said, “Yeah, we thought we would lose a few of you.” He basically wished me luck in my next job. Later I wrote an email to JD, the CEO & co-founder. He replied and asked if my decision was final and if there was any way we could discuss it. I called him and had a good chat with him for about an hour. I really like JD. I was impressed with his openness and frankness. He asked if he could offer a raise to match what I was getting from Neutron. I didn’t really want to have to call Neutron and tell them I changed my mind. It was pretty much made up. But fortunately I didn’t burn bridges with JD. We will keep open communications and I said I could possible do some consultant or contract work if needed.
I then called Nicole at Neutron and she was very friendly. I’m excited for the new opportunity, but I’m sad for the state that I’m leaving my current team in. Travis left when we got sold out to ZenPrint. Seth’s last day is Friday. And now, my last day will be the 18th.
I got a hold of a lawyer today. I have to send him all my claims and also my employee handbook. He is going to look it over and see if he feels I have any type of case against SendOutCards.
Tonight after dinner, I realized I was out of Gleevec pills. We had to drive into Draper to get my refill. After picking it up, we went to Iceberg for milk shakes. We had a fun time and laughed together.
