Yesterday Rachel told me that Spring Break was next week. The kids have the whole week off. She asked what I wanted to do and I suggested a long road trip. I must be crazy because we have no money. But we have been NOT doing stuff for so long that I want to make it a priority to get out our house and see other places.

I got Monday – Thursday off of work. I figured we could spend Monday and Thursday driving and have 2 days at our destination of choice. I was leaning toward San Diego and just hanging at the beach. But after talking to some people and looking at the weather I learned it is not really that warm right now.

So now I’m leaning toward Phoenix. It’s in the 80s there right now. I figured we could watch a Diamondbacks/Cardinals game and visit a local African type zoo. Rachel is not very excited about Phoenix. She says it sounds boring. Her vote is for Yellowstone. I would rather go to Yellowstone when it is warmer.

Either way my goal is to spend as little as possible. I want to try to spend $600 or less on the trip. That may be unrealistic, but to me part of the fun of this is to see how little we can spend. Rachel doesn’t share my idea of fun 🙂
