My leg is still numb and I haven’t noticed any real improvement yet. After lunch I went for a walk downtown and decided to step into the LDS Family Search library. I did some research on Gad Davis. He is my 3rd Great Grandfather. I was trying to confirm that his parents were Henry Thomas Davis & Margaret Evans and then try to go further up the line, but I didn’t make much progress. I did find interesting information on Gad Davis though. He was born in England and immigrated to America on the S. Curling with his family at the age of 36. Mormon, my 2nd Great Grandfather was only 5 years old at the time. Gad was a minor by profession. I found a record where at Age 40 the family was living in Iowa. It appears that his wife, Elizabeth Williams died and was buried in Iowa. Gad was buried in Murray UT, so I know he moved west, but I’m not sure exactly when. Also I’ve been to the Murray Cemetery to look for his headstone but it is not there. I would love to replace it some day. I have seen Mormon W. Davis’ headstone. He is buried close to my grandparents, Glade & Alda Davis in the Midway UT cemetery. My dad said he was hauling a load of logs down the mountain when he crashed and broke his leg. He had passed away by the time they found him. I want to continue pursuing this line to and complete my 9 generation fan chart. I’m starting straight up my paternal line.
Rachel and I have been debating back and forth whether to stay in this house or not. We love the big house and big yard for the most part. It is a lot to maintain though. Also Alpine is a beautiful area. But a few reasons for wanting to move are: 1) Be closer to work so I am not spending 2+ hours per day commuting. 2) Move to an area that has more kids so our children have more friends to play with 3) Downsize so we are not spending so much time on house cleaning and maintenance 4) Save money so we can go on more family vacations and better afford the things we need.
We’ve looked at various locations. We even drove out to Stansbury Park tonight to see if we get any kind of vibe. Still, no vibe. No excitement about any particular area. We are still not sure what to do.
