I was up until 1:00 AM last night caulking baseboards upstairs. Rachel spent the evening painting what had been caulked already. This morning she woke up and said she was too exhausted to continue. It’s been hard for me because of my herniated disc. I’ve been in a lot of pain. We decided to hire a painter. We paid a painter nearly $3000 in May to paint rooms downstairs. We called the same guy. He’s going to finish painting upstairs and do a number of stucco repairs for $2500.

I’m at a point where it is worth it to me to pay someone else to do it. But, the big problem is that we don’t have $2500. I don’t know how we are going to come up with this amount. We need to put $10,000 in repairs to our other house to sell it. I may end up asking a parent to loan it to us, or else going to the bank to get a loan or something.

In any case, I think we’ll be OK after we sell our house on Hillside. We are then planning on selling the house we are in so we can downsize. I think the paint will really help the house show.

I’m going to miss this home and this area. But, it is too much to maintain. Its too stressful. I’m ready to downsize. I remember this when I look at my list of things to do tomorrow.
