After last night’s post, I decided that for family night we would teach the children more about the First Presidency and 12 Apostles. I downloaded each of their photos off the internet and put them in a slideshow on my computer. We talked mostly about the first presidency and I’m sure the kids won’t forget who they are. We briefly went over the 12 Apostles. We sang a song with each of their names as I scrolled though them (to...
Tonight after reading scriptures we wrote in our gratitude journals. I wrote that I was grateful for prophets and apostles. I asked the kids if they knew who the prophet was. Gehrig said, “I can’t remember.” Gracie said. “President Monson. I then asked if they know who one of the apostles was. Gracie said, “I don’t know.” To our shock, Gehrig said, “President Oof-dorf!” [Uchtdorf].

I took the day off today for Gracie’s birthday. We took the kids to Boondocks. We had lunch and let them play around for a few hours in an indoor playground area and an arcade. They had a lot of fun. Gracie continually reminded us that it was her birthday. I believe she had a good one.
Rachel’s visiting teachers came yesterday. One of them is the wife of a stake high counselor and former bishop of our ward. She teaches gospel doctrine sunday school class as well. She mentioned to Rachel that it is just too bad we are moving. Her husband is supposed to recommend a name for high counsel and she thinks I would do great because I make good comments in sunday school and I give interesting talks in church. I don’t know...
I overheard in our last welfare meeting that some of the young men and young men leaders were playing volleyball on Tuesday nights. I saw one of the teachers in church on Sunday and asked why I wasn’t invited. He said if I was any good to show up on Tuesday night at 8:00, so I did. There weren’t many people there, but it was a lot of fun to play volleyball again. I haven’t played since we lived in our last ward. I especially...
