I had neighborhood watch tonight from 12:00 – 2:00 AM. My new neighbor Kelley went with me tonight. I was worried that we wouldn’t have much to talk about, but it was quite the opposite. I think we have a lot in common – especially our love of sports. The 2 hours went by quite fast and the streets were quiet.
Today as I was working in my office. I heard the door open then Gracie & Gehrig appeared with mini candy bars in their hands saying “I love you daddy”. It was sweet. So far I have really enjoyed working at home.
Today I went to lunch with Brandon. Brandon and I met in a college class at SLCC. It was a database class we were in. Since then we had a number of classes together and I eventually left 3M to go work with him at MSC. He quite about a year ago to work on his own website and do freelance work. He has had a lot of success, especially lately. I wish I were at that point, but due to debt and I couldn’t take such a risk. It was fun to chat and...
We are trying something new at work. John and I are working from home. We are paying $1500 per month for office space that only John and I occupy. So we are giving this a try. I enjoyed it today. My office is definitely more comfortable, I have bigger monitors and a faster computer and internet. Yeah that seems strange, but its true. Plus it was nice being home and hearing what goes on at home all day. We’ll see how it continues.
I wrote last week of how 1 particular elder came to our stake general priesthood meeting. Today his father (who was the former elders quorum president) stopped me in the hall and said, “Did you notice that Kevin came to priesthood meeting last week? The only reason he came was because you guys went to his house and personally invited him.” So I guess it was true. Again it made me feel good. This morning as we were getting ready for...
I have a talk in Sacrament meeting tomorrow. My subject is great modern day missionaries (post restoration). I was actually excited about the subject, but I wish I had a bit more time to study the subject. It has been fun reading about some missionaries, such as Wilford Woodruff who helped bring about 1800 converts to the church in England.
Just before five o’clock today I got an instant message from Rachel saying “come home.” I found out shortly after that it was Gracie. She got on the computer and wrote a message. Gracie is very good with computers and electronics. She loves to try and figure things out by herself, and she does figure things out quickly. I would say she’s a chip off the old block! 😉
