Offer On A New Home

We placed an offer on a house today. Our offer was for $350,000 on a house worth probably about $425,000. It is going into foreclosure on June 11th. The house is great. It’s 4500 square feet on a 0.8 acre lot. Honestly, I’m a nervous about getting it. Our payment will likely go up about $500 per month. I just don’t know where that will come from at this point. It already feels like we have every dollar stretched to the max. Yet...

Update

I’ve been slacking for a while not writing in my journal. Things have been busy lately, but I guess that is not new. Things are going well at work. Mike (my boss) got laid off so I no longer have a commuting partner. It costs me more in gas and I don’t have someone to talk to for that 45 minute plus commute. On the other hand I tend to listen to the radio, conference talks, and other things, or just have time to think and ponder. I...

Gehrig Loves the Jazz

Rachel turned on the Jazz game tonight after dinner. Gehrig got so into it. It was really funny because the Jazz were losing by over 20 points, yet he would get so excited every time they scored and so upset when the other team scored. He was standing up watching it because he was so nervous for them. He would tell me the score every time the Jazz scored. I was thinking it would be fun to take him to a game. I’m sure it will have to be...

What a Day

I worked from home today… sort of. I got an email from a co-worked that said: > hey, where were you today? The following is my reply: I was sick, just like I said I would be 🙂 Well, that is true, but only half of it. It’s been a day so I’ll share the whole story… When I got home yesterday I got a call from a neighbor asking me to help lift a heavy armoire up their stairs. When I got done my car wouldn’t start...

Father Son Time

I got home a bit late tonight. I was planning on leaving early to make it home for a basketball game, but I had a big issue come up at work that I needed to fix ASAP. When I got home Gehrig was ready to go to the basketball game. I felt bad that I missed it. He has been wanting to go again for quite some time, but all my games have been later in the evening. We wrestled quite a bit tonight and had a lot of fun. I read him a book before bed....

Gehrig’s Birthday Party

Gehrig had a birthday party today. There was snow on the ground when we woke up this morning, but it had all pretty much melted except for the shady areas by the time his party started. He had a camping party. We set up a tent and had them go on a scavenger hunt. We then roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. Leslie made another cake for him. It wasn’t really a cake. It was a giant chocolate rice crispy structures resembling a camp ground. It was...
