We had our next door neighbor come and baby sit tonight after the kids’ tball game. We went out to dinner at The Olive Garden. It was nice to have date night. It had been a while since we’ve gone to dinner by ourselves. It was so quiet on the way home driving in the car without kids! I love our kids, but sometimes it’s nice to have some alone time together.
A while back I set a goal to read at least one conference talk each week. I’m maintained that goal since setting it. Last week I read President Monson’s priesthood session talk where he encouraged priesthood holders to: Study Diligently Pray Fervently Live Righteously I wrote this down on a post it note wish is sitting on my desk. It’s been a good reminder. That combined with my goal to track my time better has let me to make...
We took a major step this morning. I called our next door neighbor who is 12 and asked if she could baby sit for us this week. We arranged for Thursday night. It is a week night and we have T-ball at 5:30, so it will have to be a short date – probably just dinner, but I’m looking forward to getting out! The reason I say it is a big step is because we have never really had a baby sitter. We have always been fortunate to have family...
For family night we went to a couple of pet stores. Rachel feels the need to get Gracie a pet because she loves animals so much. I’m thinking a rabbit is the way to go – something that can live outside for the most part and not too high maintenance. We mainly looked at rabbits, guinea pigs, and turtles. I think the whole experience made Rachel a little less anxious to even get a pet, which I am glad about. While we were there I saw some...
Today was mother’s day. I was able to call Connie and my Mom and wish them happy mother’s day. I’ve always said that I’m fortunate to have two mothers. We went to Rachel’s parents’ house for dinner. Chris and Emily were there so Gracie got to play with Brielle. That wore them out so they fell asleep pretty fast when we got home and Rachel and I were able to watch a movie together.
Today was a good productive day. I got up a little early and got some work done on my budgeting site. We cleaned and organized the garage. I fixed a broken sprinkler head. We trimmed 4 pine trees with Ken’s chain saw to make it easier to mow. We bout some planter boxes and planted some vegetables for a sort of mini garden. I’m pretty tired. I wanted to get a lot done though because next week I’m be spending most of the day at...
Tonight after putting the kids to bed I wanted to watch a movie, but it was about 9:30 before the kids actually fell asleep, so we played Mario Kart instead. It was fun spending some alone time playing games together.
