Today we made it through a whole day of church! It’s been a while since Nolan has been sick. We have had him on antibiotics all week and gave him some decongestant before church. He went into Nursury just fine. When I picked him up after church he looked so exhausted. Church is from 9 AM – Noon. His nap time is generally around 9:30 or 10:00 so he was way overdue and having the decongestant didn’t help I’m sure. But it...
Today was Gehrig’s birthday party. It was a very fun day. Rachel planned an excellent Indiana Jones themed party. We had lots of family come over. My mom, Toby, & Alex came over and saw our house for the first time. All of Rachel’s family came over. It was fun to have everyone here and it was a beautiful day. I think Gehrig had a great time. Thinking about him getting older I’ve noticed that he is getting more mature...
I got a call from my friend Keith today. He and Matt (former co-workers at 3M) are helping me with my new budgeting application – Inzolo.com. They have been working on a sort of dashboard view for the system. I could tell he was excited to explain it all to me. Hopefully we can meet on Monday to talk about it. I’m glad they are as excited about this as I am. I think this business can be really big.
Today I had lunch at a Dave Ramsey church leaders event. They basically feed us a nice meal then hype us up to help sell tickets to the live event in May and encourage use to do the financial peace university and get people to sign up for that. It’s really directed toward evangelical ministries though because a lot of what they say is not relevant to us because we have no paid ministry in the church. I still promote the event anyway...
Yesterday when we were working on food storage, Gehrig and Nolan made quite a mess in m office. I must admit that is one of my pet peeves – the kids seem to mess up every room they enter so I really don’t like them running loose in my office. They spread styrofoam peanuts all over the place. It looked like a tornado swept through. After I came out of my office today at 5:00, Gracie went downstairs and cleaned them all up. I...
Tonight for family night we talked about emergency preparation, then we filled up about 30 2-liter bottle of water that we brought during the move. It was something that had been on my to-do list for a while and it was fun to get the kids involved by explaining why we do it and then working together as a family.
This morning I saw Gracie bring her scriptures into our room and she started reading them. Last week when we had our PPI she set a goal to read a scripture everyday by herself. I don’t know how she is doing overall, but I was happy to see her trying this morning.
