Just before five o’clock today I got an instant message from Rachel saying “come home.” I found out shortly after that it was Gracie. She got on the computer and wrote a message. Gracie is very good with computers and electronics. She loves to try and figure things out by herself, and she does figure things out quickly. I would say she’s a chip off the old block! 😉

Yesterday was a long day. We got new carpet in each of the upstairs bedrooms. I got off work a bit early to try to get some furniture put back. People often call Gehrig “mini-me” because he looks so much like me. Tonight as I was getting ready to work on tearing our carpet and stuff, Gehrig was following me around “preparing” as well. I took off my flip-flops and put on some shoes and socks – had had to do the same. When it was getting close to their bed time, his shirt had gotten dirty. Rachel asked Gracie to got get him a “pajama shirt”....

The past few days have been hectic with our remodeling going on. Tonight I finished the baseboards and caulking. Its fun that the kids want to help me so much. It can be hard because I have to keep an eye on them, otherwise they can make things worse rather than help – especially Gehrig and his curious age. But I still hate to shew them away when they want to help so bad.

Sometimes I do things out of faith and to fulfill my calling to the best of my ability with the hope that what I do helps just one person. It may be rare that I get evidence of that hope, but today, thanks to the tender mercies of the Lord, I got to see that evidence.
