In our leadership meeting yesterday, the first counselor in the stake presidency shared something humorous that happened in one of their recent meetings with bishops. President Tindall asked the same person to say the opening and closing prayer (he forgot that he said the opening prayer). It brought a few chuckles from the group. The President Tindall said, “Well let me tell you how we do it in the Tindall home. Whoever says the morning prayer also says the evening prayer. That way, whatever blessings they pray for in the morning can be reported and followed up on in the evening.” I thought it was interesting.

We are normally pretty good at saying evening prayers as a family each night after we read scriptures and write in our gratitude journal. But I don’t think we have ever said morning prayers – unless we were leaving on a road trip or something.

So last night I told the kids we were going to start having morning prayers before I go into the office to work.

Gehrig said the morning and evening prayer today. During the evening prayer he just stopped in the middle and said, “I need to go to the bathroom.” I followed him to help him hurry. He then came back and continued on as if he never stopped.
