Well, I’ve skipped a couple of days – mainly because I’ve been so tired. I was up until 1:30 AM on Wednesday night packing trucks and trailers. We had a pretty good turnout from ward members to help us load the 26 foot Uhaul truck we rented. Another ward member let me borrow his trailer. I’m so glad. I don’t know what we would have done without it. Yesterday morning, Rachel’s mom, sister and brother in law showed up to help us finish. That gave us one more car, one more SUV, one more truck and one more trailer! We managed to cram everything in. It did start to rain on us, but it didn’t last for too long. I was running so fast trying to get it all done that I sort of mentally prayed that it would stop for us and it did. Once we got into Alpine I could see the dark clouds all around and yet the sun was shining just it Alpine. It was quite a sight!

We closed on the house at 11:00. We thought we were going to have to wait for it to fund on Friday before we could move in, but the owner, who was also the real estate agent we bought the house from, said we could go ahead and move in and it was all because he trust us because he know Ken Potter (my father-in-law). So that was another huge blessing. Once we got that news I called my younger brother Matt and he was available so he came and helped us move in. Cade (my brother-in-law) also recruited to friends that came and helped us out. It was again, such a blessing!

We did run into a slight snag. After we eptied the Uhaul truck, it wouldn’t start. I called their help line and the said they couldn’t send anyone out until in the morning, so we just had to let it sit there. It was really in the way so we couldn’t pull the trailer in to unload it. There was a small space and one of Cade’s friends claimed he could back the trailer in. Heaven knows there is no way I would be able to without nailing the truck or our fence. Sure enough he got it right in whith was seemed like six inches on each side. I guess he has some experience backing up boats.

The guys that helped move did their best at putting boxes in the rooms where they went, but there were so many things that just were not labeled or didn’t have a specific space. That all went in the Garage. So now we have a Garage full of “stuff”.

This morning Nolan was the first one to wake up as usual. I could barely move and I didn’t want to get up. i was awoken by a phone call though. It was Laura (my mother-in-law). She said, “I know you guys don’t have any food. I’ve made some pancakes if you want to pile the kids in the car and come over for breakfast.” I just said, “cool! We’ll be right over!” That got me out of bed.

So today was spend getting things cleaned and organized. I think we made a dent. I got my computer set up so I can work on Monday at least. There is still so much to do though. We don’t have a functional kitchen. We got all new appliances and only the fridge is installed. We have an oven, dishwasher and microhood in the middle of our kitchen.

It’s been hectic and even quite stressful – even for me. But I am so thankful for everyone that has been involved and taken the time to help us out. I figure after a couple of weeks we might start to feel settled in – just in time for Christmas.
