Learning New Tricks

Today I was trying to learn a new technology (JSON) and I was able to pick it up fairly quickly and do some very cool things. Sometimes I get frustrated and feel like an old dog trying to learn new tricks. The past year or so has been an experience as I’ve been learning Python and Django. Beautiful Area

Tonight after the kids t-ball game we went for a little drive up the canyon so I could show Rachel where I went hiking. As we drove around Alpine I couldn’t help think what a beautiful area we live in. Everything is so green right now. It seems every time we go for a drive I see deer in a field or crossing the road. It’s just a nice little small town, yet so close to the big city with all its conveniences.

Saving Some Money

Since moving and paying about $400 more per month for our mortgage, things have gotten a bit tight lately. I’ve made a couple of changes that should save us about $30 per month. I switched from Vonage to Ooma. I was paying about $32 per month for Vonage which gave me unlimited calling. When I had two lines, one for business, I was paying over $60 per month. Saw Moose Today

Today was a beautiful day. So, I was quite surprised that we couldn’t get enough people to play Ultimate Frisbee, which we generally do on Monday. I still wanted to get some exercise, so I drove just north of our house and found a trail head and started hiking. I decided I would hike as far as I could to see how far I could get. Dave Ramsey Live Event

Today I was Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover Live Event in Salt Lake City. I got free platinum tickets again for promoting it and helping sell 75 tickets to the event. Rachel didn’t want to go again this year so I invited Bryan – my friend and neighbor from our previous ward. We had a great time. We got there around 11:00 and had lunch.
