Rachel decided around 5:00 pm that it would be a good idea to paint our bedroom – tonight! So we went to Home Depot and bought some paint and came home and went to work. I got home late again today. It ws a rough day with Nolan as he caused a lot a problems. He wrote all over our bedspread with a black marker. Generally I got play ultimate frisbee on Thursdays. I was planning on it today. I even went so far as to change my clothes and get in the car and start driving. I drove about a half a mile down Redwood Road when I just got a bad feeling about going. I know that in the past if I happened to ignore such prompting bad things happen. I had a productive day today. I could make a list of all the accomplishments I’m proud of. But at the end of the day it just doesn’t seem as if any of it was worth it because Rachel had such a hard day. I’m not exactly sure which prophet coined the term “No success in life can compensate for failure in the home.” I know that is true.

I got home at 6pm today. That may not seem all that great, but given all the overtime I’ve put in lately and the times I have been getting home, I’d was happy to be home at that hour. Also I didn’t anticipate leaving until that time, but I got a lot accomplished today. It felt good to get it done too.
