This morning some contractors came and took out a section of our kitchen floor and a peice of drywall on the basement ceiling. They left 4 large fans and dehumidifier. It has been VERY loud. We have an inversion going in Salt Lake and Utah valleys. It is as bad as I can ever remember it. They say it could be a week before we have a storm to clear it out. It has really affected my asthma and my medication doesn’t seem to be helping much. I...

Today we were officially welcomed into the ward and I was also sustained in my calling as ward emergency preparedness specialist and member of the perfecting the saints council. I’m looking forward to having a calling and meeting more people in the ward.

Last night I got a call from a number I did not recognize. After saying hello, the man on the other end said, “Is this the elders quorum president?” I didn’t know how to answer that. When we moved in, the water line to the fridge wasn’t working. We noticed there was some water damage behind the fridge from a past leak. Ken installed a new water line to our fridge and one night it popped off and we had water spraying everywhere. Unfortunately it warped our hard wood floor that we had stained and refinished before moving it. It was livable though. I went to home depot a few times and did some internet research to figure...

We had tickets to the Draper Temple open house tonight. We invited Alex and Aaron to come to. We left Nolan with Rachel’s mom. It was really nice. They had the coolest chandeliers I have ever seen. I’m glad we could take the kids to see what the inside looks like. I suppose if they don’t really remember what it looks like, that is fine, but I hope they felt good inside and that is what they remember.

Late last night we had a knock at the door. Someone from the ward had left a cake, some juice and strawberries on our front porch. There was also a note with an “official welcome” to the ward. It was very nice. We enjoyed the cake tonight after dinner.
