Today I went to play basketball during lunch. I normally play with some old friends from 3M. Today nobody showed up. There is another group that come in and plays on the other court on Wednesdays. We call them the “pro-am” group. They take basketball much more seriously. I have played a couple times with them. Last week, for example, I played 5 games with them after playing 3 on 3 with my friends. They were also playing 3 on 3 and...

I got up at 4 AM this morning and went to the temple. I decided to do an endowment session, which I think was a mistake because I just can’t stay awake that early in the morning. Generally, when I go early in the morning I do about 5 initiatories and call it good. I was really struggling to stay awake through it. I wanted to be in the celestial room though. I downloaded each of their photos off the internet and put them in a slideshow on my computer. We talked mostly about the first presidency and I’m sure the kids won’t forget who they are. We briefly went over the 12 Apostles. We sang a song with each of their names as I scrolled though them (to...
Tonight after reading scriptures we wrote in our gratitude journals. I wrote that I was grateful for prophets and apostles. I asked the kids if they knew who the prophet was. Gehrig said, “I can’t remember.” Gracie said. “President Monson. I then asked if they know who one of the apostles was. Gracie said, “I don’t know.” To our shock, Gehrig said, “President Oof-dorf!” [Uchtdorf].
I noticed something this morning. Generally either Gracie or Gehrig wakes up cranky every morning. Sometimes its Gracie, sometimes its Gehrig. Fortunately, Nolan wakes up very happy every morning and always puts a smile on my face. For that I’m grateful.
The Red Cross was at our stake center today. I went and gave blood after work. When I got back, Gehrig was outside waiting for me. Rachel said that when she told the kids what I was doing that got worried that I wouldn’t have enought blood to give away.
