Movie Night

For family night we wanted to watch The Parent Trap (the original). I went to Wal-Mart to buy it but they were sold out. So rather than driving around I decided to give Netflix a try. I’ve heard that you can stream movies over the Internet and that is what I was hoping to do. Unfortunately you can only stream certain movies. So we ended up watching Enchanted instead. It was a fun movie and the kids really enjoyed it.

First Bishopric Meeting

I had my first bishopric meeting in this ward this morning. It was a somewhat small meeting as both counselors were out of town on vacation. I enjoy the opportunity to serve and I look forward to getting to know more people in the ward.

First Family Campout

Yesterday we went camping as a family up to Granite Flats. It was the first time we have been camping as a family – just by ourselves. It really wasn’t very far away. It was a nice area but kind of small. At first I was afraid that our tent wouldn’t fit in the small spot available, but we somehow made it work. Overall it was fun, but the hardest and most frustrating part was keeping an eye on Nolan. He is just so strong willed and...

Lemonaid Stand

After playing ultimate frisbee today I was really thirsty. I forgot to bring some water, which can is not a good thing in the middle of July. As I was getting in my truck to go home, I noticed a little girl across the street and it looked like she had a lemonaid stand. I dug around in my truck and managed to round up 40 cents. I walked over to her and saw a sign advertising pop and water for 50 cents. I asked her if I could get something for 40...

Sunday in Brigham City

Rachel and I got up at 5:30 this morning. I went to the church around 6 to print off some forms for the Bishop. Our goal was to leave by 7:00 AM to go to Brigham City for Jace’s (Melanie & Tom) baby blessing. We had a hard time getting the kids up. They wore themselves out swimming all day and staying up late for fireworks. Gehrig was the hardest to get up. We go there on time though. Again we struggled to get Gehrig in the chapel. He...

Independence Day 2009

I got a knock on the door at 7 AM this morning. It was Bishop Payne. He came to ask for some help setting up a grill for the ward breakfast. It is a tradition in this area for the bishopric to cook a breakfast for the ward on the 4th of July. It was a really nice event. The boy scouts did a flag ceremony. There was a song and a couple of other performances. It had a really nice small town feel that I love so much. Unfortunately during the event...

Fun Day for the Kids

Today Rachel took Gracie and Gehrig to the movies. They went with Nani, Leslie & Brigham. The kids loved it I’m sure. They got to watch it in 3D. Nolan stayed home with me. He played for a while and did well entertaining himself while I continued to work. After about 30-45 minutes I put him down for a nap and we went right to sleep without a fuss. Later Rachel drove to Springville to pick up some discounted bathroom cabinets. Gracie...
